Comn 4150A 6.00 is a research based field placement for communication majors that integrates student education with a placement opportunity. Students will commit one day a week for the duration of the term to the placement, while maintaining daily online interactions with the seminar group. This class allows students to gain experience by utilizing the skills learned in the classroom and adapt them to the job position. The experience gained in the placement will help prepare students for future careers in communication studies.
Course topics include: technology, news, alternative media, social media, bias, journalism, history, gender, work relationships, media research, non-government organizations, intellectual property rights, society and culture, politics, advertising and more.
